There have been celebrations at John Lewis Partnership as the the 91,000 staff receive an annual bonus worth 15% of their salaries – or almost eight weeks’ pay.

Rob Holder, Head of Branch, John Lewis Aberdeen, commented:
“In the last year John Lewis Aberdeen has delivered a strong performance despite a persistently tough retail market. The branch has produced significant growth in our electrical and home technology business, introduced Somerset by Alice Temperley and KIN by John Lewis to our fashion offering and added luxury travel concession, Kuoni, to our portfolio.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to recognise the commitment of the 412 Partners (staff) at John Lewis Aberdeen who have consistently provided excellent service and an interesting, relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience for customers in the branch.”

Theresa McKeown, Section Manager, Womenswear
Theresa will put her bonus towards her wedding in Jamaica. After 15 years together, Theresa and her fiancé, Wayne, will tie the knot in a low key beach ceremony with the sound of steel drums playing in the background.

She said: “Wayne and I have always focused on our 14 year old son, Cairo, so it will be lovely to finally be able to spoil ourselves. Cairo is delighted that his mum and dad are finally getting hitched and can’t wait to head to the Caribbean island.”

Cathie Stuart, Furniture Partner
Cathie Stuart, a Partner for seven years, will travel to Bangkok with her husband to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary. They will spend a few nights in the capital before retreating to a luxury beach resort. This is will be her second visit to Thailand, although the last time she was there was over twenty years ago.

Cathie said: “I can’t wait to go back to Thailand and see how it has changed over the last two decades. Bangkok also has so many great jewellers and I’ve always wanted a Jade bracelet so I hope to treat myself to one whilst I’m there,.”

Scott Johnston, Section Manager Electrical Home Technology
Scott has been busy renovating his house single-handedly since he and his fiancée bought it in April last year. His bonus this year will go to towards his next project – a loft conversion.

He said: “To date, I’ve fitted a new kitchen, bathroom and completely updated the cottage to give it a more contemporary feel. It’s been such an achievement to do all the work myself and I can’t wait to install a home gym in my newly converted loft.”
