John is the CEO and co-founder of Juggling Swords – an East Lothian content marketing agency.
Since the company launch in May 2014 (with no funding and no previous clients in Scotland) Juggling Swords has gone on to win a place on the prestigious Entrepreneurial Spark business programme and we also won its first ever Boot Camp Challenge. John was named in the Sunday Herald’s top 20 entrepreneurs under 30 list.
Juggling Swords now has an impressive range of clients across multiple sectors including food and drink, travel and tourism and B2B services.
They plan and create content marketing campaigns that convert for their clients every day and notable special projects include a video collaboration with Rolls Royce and live tweeting from the Sony BRIT Awards for our clients NB Gin two years in a row.
The business is going through an exciting growth period and now boasts a team of five (and a sixth about to start shortly) working out of the office in Musselburgh’s town centre. Juggling Swords’ turnover quadrupled in year two and are on track to treble that again in year three.
Aside from our client work, I love to educate people about the benefits of content marketing and this is done through Juggling Swords’ insightful, practical content. I’m also a regular marketing, social media and business guest on BBC Radio Scotland and a public speaker for events around the UK.
