Matthew is currently responsible for delivering Executive level support on strategic briefings, speeches, events and media/comms to the First Minister, Scottish Government Ministers and Scottish Enterprise’s CEO and Chairman on a global basis – aligning to Scotland's Trade and Investment policies.
Matthew’s previous roles include running the Royal Conservatoire’s high-profile agency for student performers and a Project Officer with Glasgow Life delivering major international cultural activity.
Special projects Matthew has undertaken include leading a commission and securing funding from Glasgow City Council for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to deliver a mini-arts festival (ART-COP) as part of COP21Paris tackling sustainability and working with a wide range of stakeholders across Scotland.
Further projects include leading special education engagement programme for Glasgow Life during the Commonwealth Games Culture Programme (Festival 2014), with responsibility for delivering content city-wide and leading stakeholder relations nationwide.
Business achievements include securing a £30,000 Sir Matthew Bourne award and investment in a London-based Dance Company Matthew co-founded and managed.
Matthew was recently approached by the U.S. Consulate, having worked with them on a number of events, to join their prestigious Young Leaders UK (YLUK) programme to develop his leadership capabilities and networks.
Matthew’s long term ambition is to lead a major organisation at leadership level to achieve impact on a large scale. He aims to work with an executive leadership team and board to strike a balance between putting support mechanisms in place, to create both a competitive and equal playing field with inclusive growth at the heart of Scotland’s business eco-system.
