Russell Dalgleish: Scottish Technology Investment events in Shenzhen and Hong Kong

Russell Dalgleish

This week I have the incredible privilege to attend the first ever Scottish Technology investment events in Hong Kong and Shenzhen delivered by Informatic Ventures and partners.

EIE – Engage, Invest, Exploit conferences bringing together investors and entrepreneurs in a unique pitching format. On this occasion, following a strenuous selection process 12 companies were chosen to travel from Scotland to pitch for funding – check out the winners here.

In addition to the delivery of the two EiE events a full schedule of events is planned including for the selected companies.

· Visits to Invest Hong Kong, BluePrint Accelerator and Brinc IoT Hub
· Attend an evening gathering of Global Scots
· Masterclass delivered by Daxtra Technologies
· Networking event with successful Scottish companies based in Shenzhen

But the twin core parts of this week will be the two EiE investment pitch events

· EiE Hong Kong hosted by KPMG in Causeway Bay
· EiE Shenzhen hosted by Shenzhen Creative Investment Group at F518 Idea Land

This trip is a great example of the collaboration between organisations in Scotland. The trip has been a co-operative venture between Informatic Ventures, WeAreTheFuture,FutureX Innovation, Asia Scotland Institute, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International. I must commend all for their incredible efforts to deliver the unique trip and in particular Gordon Stuart & Danny Helson of Informatic Ventures. And City of Edinburgh Council who maintain a JV and incubator space with the Shenzhen Creative Investment Group.
