The Centre, Livingston has unveiled plans for a £1m aerial adventure course positioned 11m off the ground, directly above shoppers and a climbing and free-falling activity, which is scheduled to open in the Spring, bringing 30 new jobs to the town.
The innovative HiRide course, located in the Winter Garden, will be suspended from the roof, spanning 100m and begin with a 15m zipline followed by 15 illuminated fun, challenging and changeable obstacles, including a rolling log and a swinging bridge.
In addition a 13m high climbing activity, HiClimb, will be installed in the nearby mezzanine level, featuring various obstacles including foam totem poles, cargo nets, rope ladders and hanging discs and an adjacent free-falling activity, HiFall which lifts participants into the air before descending rapidly but safely to the ground.
The adventure activities, created by one of the UK’s leading designers of aerial games in the leisure and retail industry, Aerial Adventures, who will operate the site, will also include a 600 sq ft, soft play area across three levels for children up to 12 years old, with a separate area for babies and toddlers.
Complementing the family-fun activities is a 1,000 sq ft, 60-seater café with an additional break out area and spectator seating in the Winter Garden.
Patrick Robbertze, Director at The Centre, Livingston, said: “We are delighted to welcome Aerial Adventures into The Centre, which will create some great job opportunities within the mall.
