Incremental Group, the digital technology services company and Microsoft Gold Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Partner, has acquired Cheshire-based Gap Consulting, a Microsoft Gold Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Partner, in a deal that strengthens Incremental’s overall offering and UK coverage.
Gap Consulting, which is one of the UK’s leading players in CRM, employs 40 people and is headquartered in Northwich. Gap’s business operates in complementary vertical markets to Incremental, with particular expertise in the health, professional services and not-for-profit sectors. The acquisition adds critical mass and expertise for Incremental in England.
This move takes Incremental’s overall headcount to 125 across 3 main delivery sites (Glasgow, Inverurie in Aberdeenshire and Northwich in Cheshire) supported by sales offices in London and Manchester. Against a market backdrop where Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 product line of ERP and CRM applications are now on one platform, Incremental and Gap’s combined strength in these areas underpins the strategy behind the acquisition.
Neil Logan, CEO and co-founder of Incremental Group, said: “Gap Consulting is a great fit for Incremental, we now have a wider UK coverage to build from and an even stronger team in place to help both government and industry undertake the kind of digital transformation that is required by every organisation that needs to optimise operations and remain competitive.”
“The team at Gap brings deep expertise in CRM and together with our own skill set, we are excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to make significant inroads in the commercial and public sectors.”
Incremental, who works alongside commercial and public sector organisations to enable digital transformation, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics, also provides Intelligence, Cloud, Applications and Consultancy services. It opened its Manchester office in Q1 of 2018 and the group’s customer base includes BP, Total, Aggreko, Scottish Leather Group and The Scottish Government. With a growing customer base in oil and gas, public sector and manufacturing, Incremental is also increasingly targeting the professional services and large corporate markets, which this acquisition accelerates.
Chris Rothwell, Dynamics Business Group Lead at Microsoft UK, said: “We would like to congratulate the team at Incremental Group and Gap Consulting. Customer demand for Dynamics 365 solutions is going from strength to strength, and partners bringing their different expertise together to help customers meet their digital transformation needs can only be a positive thing.”
Incremental Group was launched in November 2016 by a group of Scottish technology industry executives, including CEO Neil Logan, formerly CTO of Lockheed Martin BTS and Chairman of The Data Lab. It is backed by venture capitalist Maven Capital and Scottish Investment Bank, with support from Clydesdale Bank.
The group is targeting £60 million revenue by 2022, with a workforce of more than 500 and has not ruled out further acquisitions over the next couple of years. Neil Logan said: “While we are seeing a strong pipeline of organic growth over the next couple of years, we will continue to evaluate potential targets to identify value accretive acquisitions.”
